A teaser of Will Smith singing the famous song “Prince Ali” from the live-action remake of Aladdin has been released, and the internet has strong feelings about it.
One user said the performance “looked like an Expedia commercial,” and another wanted Danearys to come and burn the whole thing.
Others just brought up the comparison to Robin Williams that I don’t think Will can ever shake.
You’ll be able to judge for yourself once Disney’s live-action “Aladdin” hits theaters next week.
I should clarify that I want #Aladdin to be good. It's my favourite of the Disney animated movies. But seeing this #PrinceAli clip does not give me faith. It feels less like Disney wants a quality remake and more like they are checking off a box on their Live Action checklist.

Been a Will Smith fan all my life, but damn, I expected more from #PrinceAli . Where's the passion? It's like a karaoke version 🙁

I get it that #PrinceAli can't be just like Robin Williams version. That would just be a copyright & pointless. But I'm just not feeling that version of the song. Love #WillSmith as an actor & singer, but I'm just not getting great vibes. pic.twitter.com/kjRNKr2Y7F

The more i see previews of the new @disneyaladdin the more i hate it. I love 90s Will Smith but he wasnt right for genie, and #princeali just shows why. No singing range, awkward performance, just no pic.twitter.com/y1LtElcU5P
