In the past few weeks the US has felt the peak of Hurricane season with two different storms affecting two different regions, the hope has turned towards recovery following the enormous damage left behind.

In partnership with WIS-TV, Q93-5 and the American Red Cross teamed up Wednesday to raise money for those left homeless or displaced by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

With the help of extremely generous listeners and viewers throughout the Midlands, the phone bank was able to raise $40,0000 in donations.

Damage estimates for Hurricane Harvey are between $150 and $180 billion. Irma damages could reach as high as $100 billion. With donations coming into the Red Cross, their teams are immediately provided the funds to continue the recovery efforts in those areas.

A HUGE thank you to our wonderful volunteers, the incredible staff from the Red Cross and South Carolina’s First Lady Peggy McMaster! Having grown up in Spartanburg, Mrs. McMaster knows first hand that these weather systems affect not only our coastal regions, but the Midlands and Upstate as well. The First Lady was another excellent volunteer on the phones yesterday.

Of course, none of this support for Hurricane victims would be possible with out you and the incredible love for a few neighbors! Love and thanks!
